Not Friday? Have a cocktail anyway
September 1, 2015
“You can’t have the best of both worlds,” they say.
When you bring together two of the world’s most loved beverages, you sure can.
You reach for a glass of wine or a shot of tequila the minute you kick off your stilettos. You let your hot brew steep while you take a quick shower. Tea and alcohol, though greatly different in characteristics but also the obvious choice of beverage to wear off the midday stress.
Tea is big in the beverage industry, and also widely experimented in the kitchen. In recent years, it has spilled over to behind the bar counters. I’m guessing you have been greeted with the likes of “chamomile”, “green tea”, and “earl grey” during your recent bar hopping experience.
And it’s surprisingly easy to create one at home. I smell a weekday night drink in the works already.
Ingredients:
60 ml Gryphon Singapura Spice
30 ml Vodka
15 ml Peach Syrup (we use Vedrenne Peach Syrup)
10 ml Orange juice
Directions:
Fill shaker with ice cube, add all ingredients and shake for 2o seconds. Strain into martini glass and garnish with cinnamon stick.
